Five features make Grizzly Bear Lodge And Safari
unique and worthy of your consideration.

  1. Grizzly Bear Lodge and Safari is one of only two grizzly bear tour operators licensed to view grizzlies upriver from Knight Inlet. This provides our guests with a rare opportunity to watch the grizzlies close up feeding on salmon. Photographers and camera buffs can get close up to view bears fishing an interacting.
  2. Grizzly Bear Lodge is located in the middle of BC's Rainforest Coast on Knight Inlet, Canada's longest fjord. The scenery is spectacular and so is the grizzly bear viewing.
  3. Grizzly Bear Lodge is small and intimate, assuring personal service and attention to your needs and expectations. We only accommodate ten guests at a time.
  4. Grizzly Bear Lodge is very remote so access is by seaplane only.
  5. The remote environment, climate, the spawning rivers that flow into Knight Inlet and the natural protection provided by the mountains, forest and the Knight Inlet Fjord, cause the area to attract and concentrate the most diverse and abundant wildlife available in North America.
  6. After a day of exciting and rewarding grizzly bear viewing, we serve gourmet dinners to our guests. Visit Grizzly Bear Safari for grizzly tour and whale watching details.

Grizzly Bear Lodge And Safari 2010 News Report: Our river valley grizzly bear count of individual bears remained in the high 40's this past season. On one trip we saw 24 different bears although our average was closer to 7 or 8 per trip. The Orcas were a week late but then were often spectacular as were the humpback and dolphins. We have the photos to show you. We're really looking forward to 2010 - to see more grizzlies as they build up for the winter fishing for salmon on our wild river and to see lots of whales again too. Our whales are the healthiest in the western Pacific.

Separate wild west coast sea otter trip.  After you've seen our bears, whales and eagles, why not spend a day or two enjoying the sea otters off the west coast of Vancouver Island at this small private lodge.  This isn't one of our trips, but we recommend it.
